In this solo exhibition in Dubai, Lebanese artist Ihab Ahmad addresses the theme of the suspension of analytical thought in favor of instinctive and visceral painting. His art leaves room for error, spontaneity and emotional listening. The canvases, made with oil on linen and spray, are often painted with the non-dominant hand: a choice that aims to reduce rational control, emphasizing the pure act of creating. It is the first time that smiling human faces appear in his works. These figures, with an evocative and affective tone, refer to personal experiences, friendships, encounters, and suggest a new relationship of the artist with memory and vulnerability. The images are accompanied by a series of sculptures in raw wood, inspired by totemic forms, which amplify the same emotional and symbolic tensions in three-dimensional space. The exhibition also includes an out-of-scale work - a luxury car transformed into an artistic installation, thanks to a collaboration with the automotive brand Lamborghini. A provocative extension of the pictorial gesture that invades the imagery of industrial design. I Put My Brain on Pause ! tells the story of an artist who explores error as a resource, fragility as a language, and the human face as a new threshold of expression. A journey that reflects on the liberating power of gesture, beyond the logic of control.
