She pours her way of seeing the world into painting. Her canvases have mesmerizing colors and shapes. Chinese artist Miao Miao has undoubtedly surprising pictorial ideas. She is inspired by particular moments in his life, by a specific color, impression, action or thought. Some representations on display at the Urs Meile Gallery seem randomly combined, resembling a mixture of things, difficult to interpret. What interests Miao Miao is her relationship with time, often staggered or distorted, while the memory of real-life scenes slowly fades. In her paintings appear superimpositions of bright blocks of color and simple shapes, such as spheres, scales and book pages: compositions that distort and reorder time at the same time.
