Junji Ito is a manga artist who depicts beautiful but grotesque worlds where the everyday mixes with the extraordinary, with a touch of horror accompanied by strong humor. His highly original works have touched the hearts of readers in Japan and abroad and created a whirlwind of enthusiasm around the world. The exhibition at the Setagaya Literature Museum is the first solo exhibition dedicated to Junji Ito and brings together a series of original drawings, illustrations and paintings. Beside to his debut work Tomie, it will be possible to admire successful series such as Uzumaki, Koisurai with the Dead e Souichi, and other works like Hanging Balloon, Junji Ito's Cat Diary Yon & Mu and Dissolution Classroom. In addition to the original paintings, new works designed specifically for this exhibition will also be on display.
