Tarek Atoui: Music that shapes perceptions

For his first solo show in Italy in the former industrial site, Tarek Atoui combines existing works with new productions in an original composition, conceived specifically for the audience and the space that hosts it. His area of ​​interest concerns music and new technologies as means of expression and identity. Atoui is an electroacoustic artist and composer who explores the medium of sound, and the way it shapes perceptions, through dynamic installations, experimental acoustic environments and collaborative performances. He often collaborates with composers and artisans from different countries inventing hybrid instruments. He particularly loves to explore acoustic properties and the specific ways in which elements such as bronze, water, glass and stone transmit and reflect sound. Using electronic instruments and custom-built computers, the artist reflects on today's social and political realities.
