Art and fashion. A combination that was long considered impossible, but which in recent years is revealing common connections and aesthetic roots that demonstrate how these two worlds are not so far apart. Given the encyclopedic immensity of the Louvre, this exhibition follows a methodological approach oriented to the exploration of the history of decorative styles, artistic professions and ornamentation through the galleries of the Department of Decorative Arts, where fabrics are omnipresent. In a space of almost 9.000 square meters, 65 models are exhibited, along with numerous accessories, shedding new light on the close historical dialogue that continues to take place between the world of fashion and the greatest masterpieces of art from the time of Byzantium to the Second Empire, offering a new perspective on the decorative arts through the prism of contemporary design and fashion.
