Whitestone Gallery in Tokyo (Ginza New Gallery) is hosting from October 3 to 25, 2025, the solo exhibition of MANE, titled The Room I Still Dream Of. Born in Seoul in 1978, the artist builds around the theme of memory an emotional environment where reality and imagination intertwine. At the heart of the project lies an imaginary “room” that does not exist in the real world but resides in the mind: a passageway between the child he once was and the person he has become. Within this space move unspoken emotions, inner landscapes, and fantasies shaped by memory. At the center of it all lives the character Mariffe, embodiment of childhood and guardian of a sense of wonder and curiosity. Through paintings, sketches, and sculptures, MANE reconstructs this “inner place” not as a material space but as an emotional landscape, inviting viewers into their own introspection and reflection on the desire to reconnect with the most authentic part of themselves.
