Xue Ying: The Hidden Poetry of Home

A home can be much more than a place to live, it can become a map of our emotions. This is the starting point of Xue Ying's artistic practice. The young Chinese artist transforms everyday objects and ordinary materials into installations that evoke memory, affection and human vulnerability. In The room is empty, but pregnant, domestic space becomes a way to explore what often remains unseen: family bonds, memory, intuition and the female experience. The floor of the house becomes a symbolic boundary between two worlds, the ordered reality of everyday life and the hidden realm of emotions, where even the smallest details take on new meaning. A striking example is A Family of Three, Yet to Meet, a sculpture in which an aged copper pot and three spoons that draw close without ever touching quietly express the delicate nature of human relationships.
