In January 2026, SCAI Piramide presents an exhibition that brings together the work of Alfredo Jaar and Reijiro Wada, two artists from different cultural backgrounds united by a radical reflection on art as a critical tool. The project aligns with the gallery’s long-standing commitment to practices that question the mechanisms of vision and knowledge. Alfredo Jaar’s work is widely recognized for its ability to destabilize representation, addressing political and social issues through visual strategies that often withhold more than they reveal. His installations compel viewers to confront what remains outside the frame, the blind spots of information, and the ethical responsibility inherent in looking. In this framework, images are never neutral but carry real consequences. Reijiro Wada’s practice operates on a different yet complementary terrain. His works investigate perception, sound, memory and systems of knowledge, creating experiences in which the boundary between physical phenomena and mental construction becomes uncertain. Through installations and sensory devices, Wada challenges the notion of reality as a fixed condition, proposing instead a fragmented and unstable view of the world. The dialogue between Jaar and Wada is not based on formal similarities but on a shared critical tension. Both artists examine how information is produced, transmitted and received, and how art can intervene in these processes without offering simple answers.
