#Exhibitions

Born in Romania in 1876, Constantin Brancuși is considered one of the most important and influential sculptors of the 20th century. He lived most of his life in Paris where he died in 1957. Although he was never part of an artistic movement or current, his art was certainly influenced by his friendship and association, at the beginning of the twenties, with the dadaists Tristan Tzara and Francis Picabia. In this retrospective at the Center Pompidou, over 200 sculptures, photographs, drawings and films by the artist will be on display, offering a unique opportunity to discover every aspect of the work of Brancuși, considered the inventor of modern sculpture after Rodin. The exhibition brings together an exceptional collection of sculptures and plays on the dialogue between Studio Brancusi's casts and the artist's original works in stone or bronze, on loan from numerous private collectors and museums such as Tate Modern, MoMA, Guggenheim, Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Dallas Museum of Art, the National Art Museum of Romania and the Craiova Art Museum.
