New ferments are appearing on the Balinese contemporary scene, emerging artists who manage to bring different visions of practice and languages such as Luh Gede Gita Sangita Yasa, born in Bali in 1997. She attended the School of Fine Arts at the Institute of Technology in Bandung and has already exhibited in Java and Singapore. Luh'De's production best expresses the condition and mentality of Gen-Z, halfway between the virtual and natural world. In fact, her creative process starts from digital, to which she adds different elements such as photos taken by the artist or by her friends, online images that overlap. Thus in the artist's paintings the two dimensions combined give life to parallel universes, to settings with a dreamlike flavour, creating stimulating narrative hybrids. The brightly colored pop matrix is visible which however dissolves into metaphysical atmospheres with hints of realism and surrealism. It is the manipulation of shapes and colors that offers the possibility of exploring new sensations that captivate and hypnotize, it is the mirror of the complexity of the modern world that appears from the paintings of this artist whose career is certainly worth keeping an eye on.
