Cascades in the Lush Green Jungle In a tropical jungle near Ubud, the water fall of Tegenungan, in the village of Kemenuh, hosts tourists daily who are looking for a stroll and a refreshing swim in the heart of nature. A getaway in the lush and green jungle near Ubud is a great idea if you’re looking for a relaxing stroll in the tropical nature of Bali, followed by a dip in the clear waters of the Petanu River into which the Waterfall of Tegenungan plunges in the village of Kemenuh in Gianyar. Locally known as Air Terjun Tegenungan, it has become, over the years, increasingly well-known, an obligatory stop for those visiting the island. It is overrun by adventurous visitors every day, after they’ve braved the two-hundred steps amidst the market stalls, eateries and fun swings that offer perfect photo ops, finding themselves at the foot of this majestic jet of water falling over 15 metres. In a gazebo at the top of the falls, it is possible to relax for a while, admiring the potent rush of water crashing into the rocks below. It relatively serene location as compared to other falls in Bali which are much more difficult to reach, making this location highly accessible. An ice cream or a coconut water can be had in one of the many kiosks lining the trail, making the climb back much more pleasant. And, once at the top again, a tantalising restaurant welcomes visitors wishing to recharge along with a stunning view as well.
