Passed away in 2020, Ennio Morricone was one of the most important, prolific and influential film composers in the history of music. In 2007, after five nominations, he was awarded the Academy Award for Lifetime Achievement. A second statuette was awarded to him in 2016 as best soundtrack for Quentin Tarantino's film The Hateful Eight. His unforgettable soundtracks have accompanied iconic films such as Sergio Leone's trilogy The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Once Upon a Time in the West, Once Upon a Time in America and Nuovo Cinema Paradiso by Giuseppe Tornatore. At the Dubai Opera under the direction of his son, Maestro Andrea Morricone, the Armenian Symphony Orchestra and the Dubai Festival Choir will give life to a tribute concert on two dates on 9 and 10 May 2024. Two extraordinary evenings, in which the big screen will come to life through the timeless melodies of one of the greatest film composers of all time.
