The exhibition Etruscans of the Twentieth Century, promoted by the Luigi Rovati Foundation and the Mart, investigates the influence of the Etruscan civilization on 20th-century art. Divided into two stages, from December 2024 to August 2025, the exhibition creates a dialogue between past and present, highlighting the link between Etruscan art and masters such as Giacometti, Picasso and Warhol. The exhibition itinerary traces the fascination exerted by the Etruscans, from their rediscovery in the 19th century to contemporary interpretations. Among the standout elements, the Chimera by Mario Schifano and the role of Gabriele d'Annunzio in the construction of the "Etruscan myth". Finds, photographs and essays by experts complete the installation, offering an in-depth vision of a phenomenon that, as Vittorio Sgarbi underlines, crossed the 20th century with a timeless expressionistic aesthetic.
