Among petals, forests, and marine creatures, nature once again takes center stage at DART – Chiostro del Bramante in Rome. The exhibition Flowers. Wondrous Nature invites visitors to immerse themselves in a visual narrative dedicated to the complexity and beauty of the natural world. The project expands its focus from the flower to nature as a whole: a constantly evolving universe where plant and animal species, terrestrial landscapes, and marine ecosystems coexist in a fragile balance. The exhibition brings historical and contemporary works into dialogue, spanning four centuries of art and reaching the most recent experiments involving digital technologies and artificial intelligence. The show unfolds through three thematic sections - Art and Ecology, Art and Science, Art and Politics - exploring the relationship between creativity, scientific knowledge, and environmental responsibility. Seventeenth- and eighteenth-century paintings, including works by Margherita Caffi and Filippo Napoletano, are placed in conversation with contemporary installations by artists such as Zadok Ben-David and Tamiko Thiel, creating a dialogue across eras and artistic languages. Like a living organism, Flowers. Wondrous Nature continues to evolve and transform, offering a reflection on the planet’s biodiversity and the delicate balance that connects all forms of life.
