In the wonderful setting of the Casino dei Principi, in one of the most spectacular and least frequented parks of the capital - Villa Torlonia - a large anthological exhibition traces the artistic life of Giancarla Frare. Painter, designer and masterful graphic designer, photographer, video maker and poet, Giancarla Frare is one of the most significant figures of the generation of artists active in Italy from the 1970s to today. Paper is the support chosen by Frare to impress a very fast painting that leads the viewer through desolate stone territories in which there is no space for the human body, which appears in her work only on rare occasions. A journey built on a chronological path backwards, from the most recent works, many of which are completely unpublished, to the celebrated youth cycles (above all The Conditions of Flight, a serie of thirty-five large ink drawings which made her known to the public and gained fame and success) in an exhibition that progressively reveals the meaning of the works and reconstructs the artist's life that lies beyond the pictorial line.
Cultured and lovers of the arts, the Farneses put together a vast collection which included paintings, ancient sculptures, sketches, drawings and manuscripts. Today much of it is brought together in an exhibition.
