With the nearby Nusa Ceningan and Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan belongs to a tiny archipelago of sister islands in the Southeast of Bali. This tiny pearl is a not-to-be-missed destination for those enamoured of relaxation, nature and snorkelling. The beaches that run along the coast, dominated by tall palms, are, almost all, well-equipped, appropriate for children and worth discovering, perhaps on board a scooter or with one of the numerous guided tours. While Dream Beach and Sunset Beach offer splendid sunsets, the cliffs of Devil’s Tear are enchanting with their majestic waves crashing onto the rocks. Mushroom Bay, meanwhile, owes its name to the coral formations shaped like mushrooms in the water off the stunning white-sand beach. From here, heading North, it’s worth the trip to visit the vast beach of Jungut Batu, called “The Long Beach”. Enjoy the sunset and the spectacular view from Mount Agung, the imposing Balinese volcano, before getting on a tiny boat to take a spin through the thick tropical vegetation of the mangroves. The Yellow Bridge joins Nusa Lembongan to Nusa Ceningan. The breathtaking turquoise-coloured lagoon which divides the two islands was originally used for cultivating seaweed. From the beach of Sanur in Bali, it is possible to reach the island in about a half-an-hour, thanks to numerous local companies.
