Thierry De Cordier intervenes in the monumental spaces of the Cisterna at Fondazione Prada. A Belgian artist and philosopher born in 1954, De Cordier is known for his intense and contemplative painting, often focused on melancholic landscapes and reflections on the divine. In NADA, he presents ten works created between 1999 and 2025, stemming from a desire to move beyond traditional Christian iconography - such as the crucifixion - in order to explore the concept of "nothingness" in a mystical and existential sense. The nearly monochrome yet deeply meaningful canvases are installed in three large triptych-like structures, evoking a sacred atmosphere. The inscription NADA, replacing the traditional INRI, becomes a symbol of an art that abandons imagery to seek the sublime through absence. The exhibition, accompanied by a critical essay and a booklet featuring the artist’s reflections, invites viewers to a visual and spiritual meditation.
