This is the first major Italian retrospective of Lovett/Codagnone, the artistic duo active since 1995, composed of John Lovett (Allentown, 1962) and Alessandro Codagnone (Milan, 1967 - New Jersey, 2019). The exhibition spans twenty years of visual experimentation, including photography, video, performance, sound, installations, billboards, and a newly produced neon work created specifically for PAC. At the core of their practice lies a critique of power relations, collective identity, and the use of underground resistance tactics, drawing inspiration from radical cinema, literature, theater, and punk music. Throughout their career, Lovett/Codagnone focused on exposing the processes of normalization that suppress subcultures. The exhibition features historical works such as photographs and videos from the 1990s, alongside more recent installations and urban posters. The neon work created for PAC further enriches the display. In 2008, their artistic journey took a new turn with the creation of the band CANDIDATE, alongside musician Michele Pauli. Dedicated to the memory of Codagnone, the exhibition offers an in-depth overview of their international impact, building a bridge between visual art, music, and cultural resistance.
